Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking a diligent and experienced Construction Accountant to join a dynamic team. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in residential construction accounting, though some commercial experience would be advantageous. The role involves a variety of accounting tasks related to construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial activities.

Responsibilities

  • Bring experience from residential construction, with commercial experience considered a plus.
  • Perform Work In Progress (WIP) reconciliations.
  • Track budgets and manage financial aspects of construction projects.
  • Monitor subcontractor hours, work, and payments.
  • Manage construction draws and conduct cash analysis.
  • Support month-end closing processes.
  • Track purchase orders and perform three-way matching.
  • Assist with year-end financial activities and reporting.
  • Handle lien releases and AIA billing processes.
  • Coordinate project closeouts and ensure all documentation is complete.
  • Ensure contracts are in place and coded to appropriate budgets.
  • Manage job costing and high-volume accounts receivable.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Must have experience with QuickBooks.
  • Experience with Procore is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel is required.

Required Work Hours

Monday through Friday 8am-5pm with a 1 hour lunch

The position offers a competitive salary with a range from $65,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
